UV DTF versus conventional DTF
Two methods with similar names but very different uses.
Key differences
- Surface: DTF is for fabric; UV DTF is for hard, smooth surfaces.
- Application: DTF needs a heat press; UV DTF is applied with pressure only.
- Ink: DTF uses water-based textile inks with adhesive powder; UV DTF uses UV-cured inks with a built-in adhesive layer.
- Feel: DTF is flexible to move with the fabric; UV DTF is rigid and glossy.
Which should I choose?
If it is worn or washed as clothing, choose DTF. If it is a cup, bottle, case or other hard object, choose UV DTF. Not sure? Send us a photo of the item and we'll advise.
