Material and colour options

PLA, PETG, TPU and ABS/ASA — strengths and best uses.

Common materials

  • PLA: easy, crisp detail and many colours. Best for display items, prototypes and gifts. Softens in heat (around 55–60 °C), so avoid hot cars or direct sun outdoors.
  • PETG: tougher and more heat- and moisture-resistant than PLA. Good for functional parts and outdoor items.
  • TPU: flexible and rubber-like. Good for bumpers, grips and seals.
  • ABS / ASA: heat- and impact-resistant; ASA also resists UV for outdoor use. Can be sanded and smoothed.

Colours and finishes

Most parts are printed in a single filament colour. Silk, matte and multi-colour filaments are available on request. Colours can vary slightly between batches, and colours on screen are a guide only.

Infill and strength

Parts are usually hollow inside with a grid-like infill. 15–20% suits most display items; 30–50% or more for strong functional parts. More infill means more material, weight and time.
