How your model is printed
What happens between approving your quote and collecting your part.
Step by step
- 1Review: we check the model, size, material and any risks, then confirm the quote.
- 2Orientation: the model is turned to balance strength, appearance and the number of supports needed.
- 3Slicing: software cuts the model into layers and creates the print paths, supports and infill.
- 4Printer preparation: the bed is cleaned and levelled and the filament is dried if needed.
- 5Printing: the printer builds the part layer by layer. Small items take under an hour; large or high-detail parts can take a day or more.
- 6Removal and inspection: the part is removed once cool and checked for defects.
- 7Finishing: supports are removed and any requested finishing is done.
Quality settings
- Draft (about 0.28 mm layers): fastest, visible lines — good for test fits.
- Standard (about 0.2 mm): the everyday balance of speed and finish.
- Fine (about 0.12 mm): smoother curves and detail, takes longer and costs more.
Why prints sometimes fail
Even with good preparation, very tall thin parts, large flat parts (which can warp) or complex overhangs occasionally need a reprint or design change. We'll contact you if your model needs adjustment.
