Common artwork mistakes
The issues we see most often — and how to fix them before you order.
Mistakes to avoid
- Low resolution: a small image from social media or a website stretched to full-front size.
- Unwanted background: a white box around the design, or a fake checkerboard pattern saved into the image.
- Soft edges and faded effects that print with halos.
- Text or lines that are too thin to survive washing.
- Design touching the canvas edge so parts get cut off.
- Colours chosen on a very bright screen that look darker in print.
- Dark design on a dark garment — low contrast makes it hard to see.
- Using logos, characters or images you don't have permission to print.
Quick checklist before submitting
- 1PNG with a real transparent background.
- 2Around 300 DPI at the print size.
- 3Contrast checked against the garment colour.
- 4Design runs through the AI artwork checker.
- 5Spelling checked on all text.
