Common compatibility issues
Lifting, bubbles and peeling — what causes them and how to avoid them.
Problems and fixes
- Edges lifting: the surface was dusty/oily, or the curve is too tight. Clean with alcohol and rub the edges again firmly.
- Bubbles: the design was laid down all at once. Apply from the centre outward; small bubbles can sometimes be pressed out.
- Design stays on the film when peeling: not enough pressure. Lay the film back down and rub harder before peeling slowly.
- Peeling after washing: the item wasn't left to cure, or was washed in a dishwasher or scrubbed.
- Poor adhesion on silicone, soft plastic or textured items: these surfaces are not reliably compatible.
