Understanding transfer sheets and application

What you receive

Transfers come as sheets with two layers: a backing paper (bottom) and a clear transfer film (top). Your design sits between them. Several designs may be placed on one sheet — cut them apart with scissors before applying, leaving a small border.

Step-by-step application

1. 1Clean the surface with rubbing alcohol and let it dry completely. Avoid soapy or oily cleaners.
2. 2Cut out the design, leaving a few millimetres of film around it.
3. 3Peel the backing paper slowly at a low angle — the design should stay on the clear film.
4. 4Position the design and touch down the centre first.
5. 5Press from the centre outward with your fingers or a squeegee to push out air bubbles.
6. 6Rub firmly over the whole design for 30–60 seconds.
7. 7Peel the clear film back slowly and flat against the surface. If any part lifts, lay it back and rub again.
8. 8Let the item rest for 24 hours before washing or heavy handling.

Care

• Hand wash gently; avoid scrubbing the design.
• Avoid dishwashers, soaking and microwaves unless told otherwise for your item.
• Store unused transfers flat, cool and out of direct sunlight.
